Follow my Yarn
You've heard my tales of my travels from the Caribbean to Europe, and I got a certificate to prove it. Stay with me as I head for London and who knows where else.........
Reaching new height in the Azores
Port Ahoy!
The Azores are approximately halfway between Newfoundland and Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and are a self governed state of Portugal. We docked at Ponta Delgada and then headed out on our tour. Who knew that the Azores grew pineapples, Mmm pineapple daiquiris, pineapple upside down cake, pineapple ham glaze oh no - pineapple curry lamb.
Then it was on to the town of Ribeira Grande, it was Labour Day so most of the stores were closed. Very pretty little town with typical Portuguese architecture and cobblestone streets

New friends
Kindred spirits (as well as lots of other types of spirits) were on the cruise. My human keepers were busy having a great time with all the people they met and I made new friends of my own, wonder if they are on face book?

I plead the 5th amendment, I'm on the lam in St Kitts!
Honest sir I am old enough to drink! It's thirsty work watching all the traffic at Piccadilly circus in St Kitts. The high court did not agree and I had to state my case for the defence. I was found not guilty as the judge did not show up. Thank you to the policeman who escorted me through the court system
Was that me or you?
Next port is the volcanic island of Saint Lucia. This is still part of the Commonwealth with Queen Elizabeth II as the Head of State. There also seemed to be as many goats as humans on the island, I think I was the only lamb there. We went to the world's only drive through volcano at Soufrier, they say all the time you can smell the sulphur you are safe - lucky for us it stank!
St Lucia is also famous for the beautiful Pitons and as the location for the movie Dr Dolittle (the original not Eddie Murphy's remake)

They keep leaving me in flower pots!
Why do they keep leaving me in flower pots while they go shopping for jewelry and cigars. Short stop in town before we head back to the ship via water taxi. Had a great time in St Maarten two ports down, two more Caribbean stops to go before we head across the Atlantic Ocean

Ewe can get blown away at Maho Beach!
Next port is St Maarten - Maho Beach is at the end of the airport runway, plane spotters and tourists flock there and get blown away by the jet propulsion from the planes. One of my travelling companions is hidden in the sand.
Looking for barrrrgains in St Thomas
First port of call is St Thomas, USVI. Although known for duty free shops and beaches we decided to walk into town and explore the side alleys and antique stores. We also stopped at Gladys' restaurant for a great conch chowder and Kalamazoo soup. Always know a good restaurant when the locals are in there, also no sign of lamb on the menu!
Yeah I'm off on the RCCL Adventure of the Seas TransAtlantic
15 Decks, 10 pools, 15 bars - I know I'm going to get lost, as long as I have my mint juleps and mojitos I should be fine, hope they don't ask for ID.
